Call to Church and Neighborhoods

Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City also sees the need for us to help moms and families in crisis. He grew up in St. Louis, attended seminary here, and led the St. Louis Pro-Life movement after his ordination.

Fast forward many years – Archbishop Naumann isnow the Chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities for the USCCB. In November 2019 and again at the “March for Life”, in January 2020, he said, “Pregnant and parenting moms in need are in our churches and our neighborhoods.

Women facing challenging pregnancies should see the Church as a place where they can find help, especially with its myriad of social services and organizations dedicated to meeting the needs of people in crisis.”

On March 25, 2020, Archbishop Naumann along with the USCCB launched a national campaign titled, “Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service”. He encouraged local churches to make resources available to moms; to create a list of the resources that are available in the area; to identify and fill any gaps, and then to make this information known to mothers and families in need.

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
